If you choose to take an organised tour or safari there is often the opportunity to immerse yourself in the different African cultures. Many tour operators include a night or two staying in an African village, meeting the locals and taking part in their traditional and tribal rituals and customs. While the thought of being immersed in a culture where you don’t understand the language worries you, don’t let it. Most people find that, partly owing to the friendliness of the villagers and their willingness to embrace their foreign visitors, that language is no barrier.
